I’m still around. Actually, I swing by and check to see if anything is new here every few days or so. I just read Chandra’s blog and had to write.
For so long this blogging community was a huge part of my world. I met friends here – people that made me laugh, cry, and feel connected to. I don’t know what happened, but things seemed to drop off. It was frustrating.
Chandra mentioned only a couple people commented on her getting married, but said she didn’t blog for comments. She was being nice.
I blogged for blogging sake, but I also blogged for comments. When I was active here, i tried to take the time to leave something on every blog I read. I wanted people to know someone read their words. I wanted to know someone read mine. I felt that was an important part of the community aspect of blogging.
I didn’t visit every blogger’s space. Some I wandered to and they just didn’t compel me to continue reading. That’s life. It’s like life – not everyone you meet is going to be someone you choose to be friends with. I didn’t expect everyone to love my blog. (Hmph! how could they not though? – I kid, I kid)
Anyway, I craved that feedback. I gave that feedback hoping others would follow suit. It slowly dropped off. People stopped writing their own entries on a regular basis. Eventually, being active seemed pointless.
I’m not being a sniveling whiny pants or anything like that – I’m just tossing out my own observations. I guess part of the reason I keep checking back is to see if people start posting, commenting, and becoming active members again. If they do, I’ll be back in a heartbeat.
I wonder if any of the other old regulars are out there and feeling the same way?
Peace
Out

I have my theory, for what is worth. With the popularity of Twitter and Facebook we’ve become a short attention spand social society. Twitter and facebook has made it easy to tell the world what you are doing and get a response from followers. It is quick and to the point. Heck texting has become the new email. It is the ever evolving world of social media and blogging seems to have become the way of the oldin’ days. I am guilty of jumping the blog-o-sphere for something quick and easy and yields the response and connection I use to get when I blogged. I Facebook. That’s my two cents. BTW How are you doing? I’ve often wondered how you’ve been doing and have checked here to see if you’ve posted. I hope all is well with you!

I totally second the comment above. With the emergence of social networks blogging has been broken up in smaller and smaller bits. And for me it might not be such a bad idea. I always struggled to write shorter but less frequent posts. But I still write blog posts (although maybe once a month) because I like to keep a diary of some sorts. It’s the longest one I ever kept, more than six years now, and I’m gonna keep the tradition alive.
Am not sure, are you on FB or Twitter? If so, I’d love to add you

Hi guys! No, I don’t have a facebook or a twitter account. I’m holding out on those. I guess I just don’t want to be “so” connected. I have discovered that without chatrooms and other types of online stuff, I’ve been able to get a lot more done. I just don’t want to get back into where I was before – constantly online while the world went by. : ) I will try to post here periodically and look for you when I do.

I haven’t been around much due to Style’s and I being forced to move, first there was house cleaning, then packing, then more cleaning, then we were out of the house and I had to get my internet time in small doses and blogging in those little times I was online wasn’t a priority, now I’m finally making the drive east to our new life(styles left in May) so I hope that once I’m settled I’ll make more time for this blogging thing.

Real life got in the way. Coming tired of home, have to do this and that before I could start up the computer. Was easier to switch on the television and fall asleep when watching some stupid series.
Also all that moving of efx3 blogs wasn’t good for me and other bloggers I guess. Either they stopped or they went to other blog platforms.
Anyway, just nice to know you are still alive.

I’ve got shockingly bad at blogging but summer is always hectic and I find a quick update on FB or a Tweet is an easy option. I’m not through with blogging though – I’m going to write up my holiday and put some photos up in the next few days. Nice to know you’re still around x
